What’s in a name?

For us, everything!  When we set out to create our custom-blended essential oils to scent our candles, we wanted to evoke a sensory experience of the places, animals, plants, and things  that we love about our great state of Montana.

If you’ve ever had the pleasure of spending a summer afternoon intermittently sunning yourself at the edge of Fairy Lake just north of Bozeman, jumping from the driftwood logs into the water to cool yourself off, only to be mesmerized by the blue-green water and breathtaking backdrop of the Bridger Range, you’ll know what we were daydreaming about when we blended lavender, ylang ylang, and lemon essential oils for one of our signature blends, Fairy Lake Lavender.  It’s cozy, dreamy, floral, and makes you wonder if that sparkle in the air is real or imagined.

Have you ever driven up Going-to-the-Sun Road in Glacier National Park in October, right before the pass gets dumped with snow?  The cloudy, foggy, cold wet air on your face and the bright yellow of the larch trees - one of the few deciduous conifers - awakens your senses in the same way that our Glacier Mint blend of peppermint, eucalyptus, and lemon essential oils will do.

Or the Madison River, a sunny day, the wide, welcoming smile of the river, with a fly rod in hand?  These are the days you will remember forever and exactly what we were thinking of when we blended blood orange, grapefruit, and lemon essential oils together to make our fan favorite - our “sunshine in a jar” - Madison River Sunrise.

And that’s just our Signature Line - available year round.  Additionally, we rotate seasonal blends quarterly to celebrate the changes we are all lucky enough to witness within our great state each year.  Check out our online store for the most recent additions - the Spring Seasonals, Bitterroot Blossom and Morning Meadowlark.  These scents pay homage to our state bird and flower, bidding the long cozy winter adieu and welcoming the return of breathtaking wildflower fields and that early morning symphony of chirps which excitedly declare, “Wake up sleepy head! Today is the day for sunshine and adventure!”

Happy hiking from our families to yours - hope to see you out on the trail!

Your Candle Buddies,

Ashley & Jessica
